7-ELEVEN IS NOW DELIVERING

7-Eleven Australia and The Salvation Army Australia help stock the pantry for those in need this Christmas

17 December 2024

Last week our friends at The Salvation Army Project 614 Melbourne picked up a van load of groceries and other essentials for people doing it tough thanks to our Product Team.

It has been another difficult year, particularly for those already experiencing hardship. To date The Salvation Army across Australia has experienced a sharp increase in demand across its services and they are anticipating even greater demand over Christmas.

Major Brendan Nottle, The Salvation Army Project 614 Commanding Officer said: “Being able to provide access to essential food and grocery items as well as some treats gives people in need not only support to get through what is a very challenging time for many, but also the understanding that they are being seen and cared about by others. This is critically important in helping find a new beginning.”

Our Product Team have been working hard on extending our product range, particularly in food and grocery, as part our ambition to be My Convenient Neighbourhood Store - providing the right range of products, at the right price, when and where our customers want them. They test and try new products, new ranges, and see how they fit into our layouts using real product samples. Inevitably, this means we end up with products we need to find use for.

7-Eleven CEO and Managing Director, Fiona Hayes said: “by working with The Salvation Army to redirect any leftover samples or excess stock we are able to support their work to give people some joy and comfort this Christmas. A huge thanks to our Product Team for making this donation possible, and to The Salvation Army for all their work to support the neighbourhoods we serve.”
