Experienced 7-Eleven Store Manager Fiona Murdoch is working with four new recruits and a total team of eight to open new 7-Eleven Ambarvale at 67 Woodhouse Drive today.
While the main recruitment for the store took place a few months ago, Ms Murdoch says there are some additional job opportunities available at the store.
“We would really like to see applications from Ambarvale locals who are committed to customer service, love to learn, are adaptable and have great energy. People who are customer focused, work well in a team, are always pushing themselves to succeed, and are committed to doing what’s right are perfectly suited to the role. Specific experience in convenience and fuel retail isn’t required as we provide extensive training to help get our team members ready for success,” Ms Murdoch said.
Ms Murdoch said that Ambarvale locals would see a few familiar faces in the team at the new store.
“We have a number of locals in the team. They know their community, and we wanted to provide employment opportunities to outstanding candidates who also had connections with our local residents. The talent that applied to join us has been exceptional. The team members we recruited for the store have been working in other stores as we prepared to open, and already, a few of them are showing potential to progress quickly thanks to their hard work and great attitudes. I’m excited to be working with the team to provide a great experience for Ambarvale locals.”
The new store will provide a range of convenient products and services. Shoppers will be able to grab their favourite products and fill up at any time as the store will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It will feature a full range of fresh food and convenience options including; 7-Eleven’s handmade sandwiches, wraps and Krispy Kreme doughnuts which are delivered fresh every day, as well as 7-Eleven’s $1 freshly ground coffee, and Slurpee including Slurpee Low Sugar options.
The store will have the full range of Mobil fuel. Mobil brand fuels are engineered to work harder and improve fuel economy for the consumer. Fuels on offer include Supreme 98, Extra 95, Special E10, Special Unleaded 91 and Special Diesel.
According to 7-Eleven New South Wales State Manager, Karen Mennie, the company’s ongoing growth is providing opportunities for team members to build careers in both the corporate and franchise stores.
“Fiona has been with our business since 2018. She has previously operated some of the biggest stores in the country, so she is the perfect choice to train our new team and build their skills. Our network continues to grow, which provides lots of opportunities. Many of our team members have taken advantage of the opportunities available due to their hard work and dedication and have taken on new roles and responsibilities. As a leader, seeing your people develop in their careers is really rewarding,” Ms Mennie said.
The 7-Eleven business continues to grow with six stores opening in the past six weeks and approximately 30 stores opening on average a year.
“We want to be there to serve our customers in convenient locations in their neighborhoods,” Ms Mennie concluded.
