Six new employees have joined newly promoted store manager Maciek Gryglewski and assistant store manager Adam Reale to welcome locals to the new 7-Eleven Booragoon at the corner of Marmion St and Norma Road Booragoon.
Mr Gryglewski said the quality of talent that applied to join the team was exceptional.
“We were thrilled to receive more than 120 applicants and interviewed about 40 people. From our conversations with applicants we estimate about 25 percent of people are looking for new opportunities due to the impacts of COVID-19. The team members who are joining us are fantastic. We are looking forward to working with them to delight our local customers,” Mr Gryglewski said.
“Our store has three coffee machines, a Simply Cups cup recycling unit for single use cups and also the new 7-Eleven ParcelMate lockers. Our ready to eat fresh food offer is really extensive, with lots of delicious convenient options for the local community to enjoy,” he said.
The new store will provide a range of convenient products and services. Shoppers will be able to grab their favourite products and fill up at any time as the store will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It will feature a full range of fresh food and convenience options including; 7-Eleven’s handmade sandwiches, wraps and Krispy Kreme doughnuts which are delivered fresh every day, as well as 7-Eleven’s $1 freshly ground coffee, and Slurpee including Slurpee Low Sugar options.
According to 7-Eleven West Australian State Manager, Nick Maddox, the growth in the market has provided new convenience options for consumers as well as employment opportunities.
“7-Eleven has been part of the West Australian community for almost six years, and this is our 42nd store. We have more than 400 people in our team here now, including store leaders, support teams, franchisees and the team members who work in either our corporate or franchised stores,” Mr Maddox said.
“While progress has been exciting, we are continuing to grow using what we’ve learned over the past six years to adapt to serve West Australians better every day. We’re committed to our growth plans so we can provide convenient store locations for customers, and also opportunities for our team.”
Mr Maddox said that the career progression of many of his team members has been inspiring.
“As a leader, I am incredibly proud to see people progress their careers. We help to facilitate their growth through our training and mentoring but it’s the team members themselves who reach higher to take growth opportunities by committing to building the skills and capabilities needed. As our network is growing there are lots of chances for people with the right mindset who want to build a career to accelerate their progress. Just this week we are promoting three more team members, offering them assistant store manager roles. Seeing that happen is incredibly rewarding for me.”
“Both Maciek and Adam have been promoted within the network over the past twelve months and I think they are going to do a brilliant job of leading the new team to serve the community at Booragoon,” Mr Maddox concluded.
