7-Eleven and Mobil are proud to collaborate with Brad Jones Racing for Australia’s most iconic race – The Bathurst 1000. Drivers Nick Percat and Tim Blanchard will be behind the wheel of the BJR Holden Commodore as they head into the first event of the Pirtek Endurance Cup.
Having supported BJR at the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint earlier this year, 7-Eleven and Mobil are thrilled to extend this relationship at Mount Panorama for Australia’s most famous race.
Mobil has a long and successful history with the Mountain, famously teaming up with Peter Brock for many years - including his final Bathurst 1000 victory in 1987 in a Mobil Holden VL Commodore.
“The Bathurst 1000 is anything but predictable, this race can mentally destroy drivers and teams or help you produce the greatest moment in your life,” said BJR owner Brad Jones.
“Bringing Mobil back to the mountain in collaboration with 7-Eleven has rekindled a lot of memories of Peter Brock and I racing together. He was a tough competitor, but more than that he loved racing his car. It’s the same for my brother and I, and the entire team at Brad Jones Racing. We love racing and we know it’s not predictable which is one of the driving forces that keeps us pushing forward each week.”
7-Eleven launched in Australia in 1977 and provides a market leading customer experience all day, every day. Endeavouring to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary and can appreciate the passion Australians feel for motorsport. The Australian owned and operated business has 700 franchise and corporate stores across Victoria, NSW, Queensland, ACT and WA which ensures all motorsport fans a place for convenience and great fuel.
“Our franchisees, store managers and their teams were recently awarded back-to-back ‘Canstar Most Satisfied Customers – Service Stations’ awards, beating ten other brands. They can appreciate competition and the pursuit of performing at the highest level so when we told them about our collaboration with Mobil and Brad Jones Racing, they were excited. Many of them are fans of motorsport” said Vicky Dolman, 7-Eleven’s Senior Category Marketing Manager.
“This collaboration further highlights our relationship with Mobil fuels. Not only are we excited to go racing in the nation’s biggest race, we’re pleased to offer high quality Mobil fuels and provide great value to customers using our market leading fuel app, which has been downloaded more than 1.7 million times,” Dolman said.
Nick Percat appreciates the 7-Eleven philosophy, “To stay at your best, you need to be happy; if you have a negative experience you can quickly be turned off,” Percat said. “It doesn’t matter if you race cars, work in construction or are sitting an exam. The people you encounter throughout the day do have an impact on you, so you want to surround yourself with positive people.”
As part of the 2019 collaboration, 7 Eleven and Mobil have teamed with BJR to offer an incredible ‘mountain of prizes’, including 50 caps, 30 pit tours, 5 hot laps and two major prizes that include 2 tickets to the 2020 Bathurst 1000 and 2 hot laps throughout the year. Beginning Wednesday the 2nd until Thursday the 10th of October we will be uploading various competitions to win tickets to Bathurst. For all competition information head to the Brad Jones Racing Facebook page.
“Bathurst is the biggest event on the calendar and Mobil has been involved in many victories,” said Matthew Stella, Mobil AU Marketing Advisor.
“This event resonates with everyone at Mobil. It’s about people, dreams, performance and reliability. We believe in our product and value the relationship with 7-Eleven and Brad Jones Racing. Mobil is excited about their inclusion and look forward to the race, as Nick has been driving tremendously well and we have been involved in some great races with the Brad Jones Racing team”, said Stella.
The 7-Eleven Mobil Racing Supercar will be on track from Thursday the 10th of October.
